Episode 22: Trade Ya!
Grade: B-
Scott Sonneborn returns after Somepony to Watch Over Me and doesn’t break the trend of my preference for a new writer’s first episode. I give it a B- purely on a technical level. I can’t say anything’s explicitly wrong with Trade Ya!, but I also don’t like it one bit.

Episode 18: Maud Pie
Grade: A+
Maud Pie made me laugh more than Pinkie Pride. More than A Friend in Deed. More than Lesson Zero. As an entertainment viewer, this episode makes me happy because it just might be the funniest episode of My Little Pony. What elevates it even further, though, is that I can also enjoy it from the perspective of a relational viewer. Continue reading

Amy Keating Rogers might be my favorite writer on the show. It’s either her or Meghan McCarthy, but I believe Meghan’s done writing episodes like Lesson Zero, Party of One, and Sweet and Elite—and, anyway, Amy’s style is my style: craaa-aaazy shenanigans!
